Millionaire’s Row
November 8, 1952. Millionaire’s Row was where the richest of Virgnia City's rich lived. These opulent homes were located on B Street, with a view of the whole town laid out before them. What better place to keep an eye on the mine you owned?
This house seems to be one of the few that wasn't allowed to deteriorate as time went on. It was in great shape, and probably even lived in, in the 1950s.
June 19, 2004. Today it's still in great shape, and still a private residence. Not too many of the other homes on Millionaire's Row can boast that. The house right next door is being used as a real estate office. Down the road is "The Castle", the most lavish of Virginia City's remaining mansions. It is open to the public for tours. In between are many empty lots where the buildings didn't survive the bust years and were taken down. This one still looks almost the same as it did half a century ago, with the addition of some nicer steps leading down to the road.
